All the blenders in the MultiQuick 9 line are functionally the same, with different accessories. But higher-end blenders often include additional blades, a chopper, a slicer, and a grinder. Attachments Hand blenders usually come with a wand, a whisk, and a work bowl. Manufacturers usually sell bowls separately, too, if you need a replacement. The MultiQuick 9 has variable speeds as well once you select a high, low, or pulse setting, but since its button sits flatter on the machine and isn’t curved to your finger as on the MultiQuick 7, we found controlling the speeds less comfortable and intuitive on this model. The hand blender fits into the top of the bowl to chop, cut, mix, or blend the bowl’s ingredients. Though Braun has videos showing how to use the iMode technology to select speeds, we found ourselves using two hands to operate this blender (both to unlock it and to select the speeds). MultiQuick 5 Vario Hand blender MQ 5200 WH. The main difference between the MultiQuick 9 and the MultiQuick 7 is that the MultiQuick 9 has a safety feature that locks the blender if you stop using it for a few seconds. This blender achieved results similar to what we saw from the other Braun models, but we didn’t think its extra features were as useful as those of our picks. We tested the new Braun MultiQuick 9 Hand Blender MQ9137XI in 2021. In 2021, we repeated the soup and smoothie tests. As with the soup, we strained the smoothies after blending. Although we recognize that many immersion blender manufacturers don’t recommend using their blenders to pulverize frozen ingredients or ice, we know that many smoothie recipes call for ice and frozen fruit, and that some people like to make smoothies with their immersion blenders. We also made smoothies with kale, frozen strawberries, a few ice cubes, orange juice, and yogurt in each blending cup (or in a Pyrex 4-quart glass measure for models that didn’t come with a cup). Again, we pureed large batches of soup consisting of fibrous root vegetables, ginger, and almond directly in a 6-quart pot, straining the results to look for any unblended bits. For our 2018 update, we decided to test each blender for exactly four minutes, after noting that most of the models in our lineup took around that long to produce a smooth-looking pot of soup. The redesigned Smart Stick hand blender now has a more powerful motor, new blade and blade guard design and a durable stainless steel shaft thats long enough. We timed how long it took, and then we strained the results to see if the blender left behind any chunks. In previous tests, we started by pureeing a full pot of root-vegetable soup until it looked smooth (which is how most people use their immersion blender at home). If I had to put money down, I'd guess they'd have a game design in hand, then they'd start implementing it.and when there was slowdown they said "aw hell, but not worth cutting the game down for." Which I generally agree with, especially if it meant more time for developing new games that otherwise might not have been made, like Surprise Attack I suppose. Secondly, considering that Konami made their own hardware board designs - I've seen credits of some arcade games where at least one person was tasked (credited) solely with the board design - and even custom chips (even early on) it doesn't seem outrageous to consider that this could have been intentional, or at least not considered worth scaling back the game for. There are at least a few posts in that discussion worth checking out, however, that at least give some idea what the consensus amongst and impact on gamers is. Tomaitheous, I think that the boss explosions are points where slowdown serves a "cinematic" purpose, so it's probably there by design. So either Konami is great at game design but shit at actual code implementation, or this fact that the slow down is built into the engine/game as part of the design to help it out. ![]() For Gradius 2 and 3, it's a dual 68k (10mhz IIRC). For Gradius and Salamander, the main processor is a 10mhz 68k. So I did some research about the arcade hardware. I'm thinking at this point, Konami are some pretty incompetent programmers. That reminded me that the Gradius hucard port also had slow down. It jokingly mentioned of the slow down in the game. Watching Spida1a's review of Salamander for PC-Engine hucard. I didn't think too much of it, until more recently. I wasn't given any links, but was told that a certain reputable member of the dev community actually looked through the code and found evidence that appeared to point to the fact. I questioned what kind of research was done to prove this. Then, recently, I saw this mentioned again on a dev forum. Just some excuses of rabid fanboys insecure about their beloved console's processor speed. This was specifically mentioned in passing for the SNES (Gradius III). That being said, it’s still not a walk in the park. The Gradius games are notorious for their difficulty, but thankfully Rebirth isn’t as brutal as the older games and we think it ranks as one of the easiest in the series. The first thing that hits you is the charming 16-bit graphics and sound, which are very much like what you would expect from a SNES game, with some sprite scaling and rotation and even some slowdown to help you get through some of the more challenging areas.
